About the Institute on Health, Productivity, and Human Capital

The Institute on Health, Productivity, and Human Capital, a fully funded institute within the National Business Group on Health, was established in November 2007 to develop and share solutions aimed at improving employee health and productivity. The mission of the Institute on Health, Productivity, and Human Capital is to actively engage large employers in thought leadership, problem solving, and the development, testing, refinement, and dissemination of competitive population health, productivity, and organizational performance solutions.

Key Institute Objectives:

  • Be the national voice for employers on issues related to employee and dependent health and productivity.
  • Provide a secure forum where members can share and access best practices and benchmark programs.
  • Facilitate a meaningful dialogue between large employers, national experts and policymakers regarding employee health and productivity, population health and organizational performance.
  • Create practical tools and actionable solutions that address the quantitative and qualitative aspects of employee health and productivity, employee and organizational performance, and population health.
  • Be the leading source of information addressing employee health and productivity, population health and organizational performance.
  • Develop an integrated matrix of health and productivity solutions that assist and support employers from novice to expert.
  • Establish EMPAQ® (Employer Measures of Productivity, Absence and Quality™) as the industry-wide standard for health and productivity metrics and definitions and further develop meaningful and actionable data comparisons for building and maintaining effective and integrated health and welfare programs.
  • Establish the National Conference on Health, Productivity, and Human Capital as the premier venue for information and innovation on topics of health and productivity solutions and human capital issues for large employers.

The Institute welcomes additional members. Employers are urged to participate and shape the future of this very important group.
